ESG

Sustainability is not just an empty term for us. It’s not a new trend either. In our company, we establish principles of sustainable development and ESG rules. It is extremely important for us to approach the future with respect. We focus on an integrated approach to social responsibility and governance. These factors are crucial for us, and we actively contribute to a more sustainable and socially responsible world. Our products are exclusively used in public transportation and for managing energy consumption.

We recognize that the establishment and implementation of ESG principles are essential for companies. We take our responsibility towards the environment and society seriously. Therefore, we continuously take steps toward a more responsible and sustainable approach.

E – ENVIROMENTAL

The main tool for managing sustainability in the environmental area is the calculation and monitoring of our company’s carbon footprint. The latest measurement revealed that the largest share of our generated carbon footprint comes from indirect greenhouse gas emissions (over 85%), resulting from the company’s activities and arising from sources outside the company’s control or ownership (scope 3). We see this as an opportunity to elevate our activities to even more environmentally friendly practices in collaboration with our customers and suppliers.

We place equal importance on the remaining segments of our carbon footprint. A significant factor is employee commuting and fuel for company vehicles, which is why we also focus on the distance employees travel to work. We are committed to exploring alternative transportation options. Our fleet includes two fully electric vehicles, and we are considering the purchase of more. We aim to ensure that all production processes are environmentally friendly. We are introducing new metrics, expanding monitored areas, analyzing data, and seeking ways to save. We are optimizing packaging and shipping processes. As part of our sustainability management system, we have replaced adhesive tapes in the logistics and shipping department. Our previous BOPP adhesive tapes have been fully replaced with new paper-based alternatives. These tapes are made from brown coated paper with synthetic rubber adhesive. A significant added value is that these adhesive tapes can be recycled along with cardboard. We continue to seek areas where we can replace existing materials with recyclable options and look for opportunities to implement returnable materials.

In our manufacturing processes, our priority is to minimize energy consumption. We focus on reducing waste, aided by the latest available technologies and tools.

The company REMA awarded us for our achievements in environmental protection. The REMA system ensures effective recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment. Through our collaboration, we achieved environmental savings in 2023 amounting to:

  • 11,894 MWh of electrical energy
  • 18,107 tons of primary raw materials
  • 4.8 million m³ of water
  • 20.3 million liters of oil
  • 48,620 tons of CO₂

CI3 s.r.o. prepared a comparison of our carbon footprint year-on-year for 2022 and 2023. The carbon footprint for 2023 is 3,145.8 tons of CO₂e. To give a clearer perspective, this value corresponds to the following activities:

  • The annual usage of 1,166 average cars.
  • 7,865 round trips from Prague to London.
  • 436,942 servings of beef (production and delivery).
  • 45,593 iPhone 13s (production and usage).
  • 2,643 households in the Czech Republic generating electricity annually.

S – SOCIAL

In this area, we focus primarily on the social impacts of our business. We are updating employee conditions, promoting diversity and inclusion. Priorities also include building relationships with customers and the communities in which we operate. We recognize that adhering to employee conditions contributes to a positive relationship between the company and our employees, while reducing risks associated with working conditions. Implementing principles of inclusivity and diversity fosters a positive perception of our company.

Our employees are not just numbers on paper, and our goal is for all employees to feel this way. Therefore, we continuously seek ways for them to identify with our company. We regularly engage in various team-building activities, motivational competitions, and prioritize health and wellness. We offer fruit days, subsidized multi-sport cards, and have installed air humidifiers in our production facilities. Employees receive compression garments to relieve discomfort from heavy legs, and we continuously gather feedback from our colleagues to enhance employee comfort.

We also engage in regular charitable collaboration with the Kytlice Home for Persons with Disabilities as part of our social responsibility efforts.

G – GOVERMENT

We strive to ensure that proper governance and transparency contribute to building trust between the company, our customers, and employees. The key word in this area for us is ETHICS. We are committed to strict adherence to the AMiT Ethical Code, which we continue to expand. To responsibly establish the best management processes, we conduct numerous audits throughout the company, allowing us to have real data at our disposal and enabling us to focus on enhancing the attractiveness of our entire organization.
