CEIP, a dynamic operational private equity fund led by Ondřej Benáček, announces a significant step in the strategic development of one of its key platforms. AMiT, which CEIP has owned for two years, is expanding its portfolio with the acquisition of a majority stake in Bustec. Bustec is a renowned manufacturer of innovative information systems for passengers on buses, trams, trains, and at stops, operating across the EU, including existing branches in Romania and Germany.
Comprehensive transport solutions
The acquisition of Bustec strengthens AMiT’s position as a key player in the development and manufacture of transport systems. “Our goal is to provide customers with comprehensive and complementary systems worldwide. Combining our expertise and technological solutions opens the door to new opportunities in existing and new markets,” said Michal Dolejš, CEO of AMiT.
This merger will enable AMiT to better meet customer requirements, keep pace with modern technologies, and offer solutions not only for rail vehicles but also for buses. The acquisition is complementary in terms of products, customer segments, geographic markets, and development, creating significant synergies. “We believe that this change will provide a positive impetus for the growth of our company and strengthen our position as a market leader in transportation information systems,” added Dolejš.
Market development and expansion into new regions
AMiT and Bustec will jointly develop established markets in Germany, Benelux, the Czech Republic, Romania, Hungary, and Poland. However, expansion into other promising regions such as Spain, Sweden, Finland, and Italy is also planned for the coming years. “This expansion is in line with AMiT’s strategy: to become the Central European leader in the supply of public transport systems,” says Ondřej Benáček, partner at CEIP.
Bringing innovation and quality together
Bustec brings unique know-how in the field of passenger information systems, primarily for bus and tram transport, to the AMiT Group. The combination of the two companies’ expertise will enable the development of new solutions that meet the latest standards and market requirements. “This step confirms CEIP’s commitment to investing in innovative and technologically advanced companies that have the potential to become leaders in their field,” concluded Benáček.
